I was cheered by the buzz on campus this morning. New student enrollment is under way, which is when soon-to-be first year students and transfer students come to campus to register for classes, meet with advisers and get other helpful information to make the transition to college life as seamless as possible. I think we do a great job with new student enrollment and getting students into the right classes. That’s so critical to their success.
It’s interesting to talk to the new students and their parents and to hear about their expectations. Many times, their parents are alumni who haven’t been on campus since they graduated. It’s great to hear their observations about how campus has changed or what or who they enjoyed seeing again. But more than anything, I love everyone’s excitement. It’s a great reminder of why I like my job so much.
