In the College of Arts and Sciences, we take great pride in our rigorous courses, insightful research and teaching prowess, but don’t get me wrong. We like to have our fun, too. It’s even better when we can come together as a college to celebrate academic achievement and put a spotlight on the many ways members of the Arts and Sciences family are making an impact on campus and beyond.
Faculty, staff and students are all invited to our annual Academic Stars reception on Monday (Feb. 28) beginning at 4 p.m. in the Van Brunt Visitors Center. There will be food, fun, prizes and some “challenges” that will appeal to the competitive and exceptionally skilled among us. You’ll have to twist my arm (or take another look at the official invitation at http://ascweb.unl.edu) if you want a better hint.
I’m looking forward to toasting our 2010-11 Academic Stars, celebrating achievements across the college, visiting with everyone and hearing who should be our next “star.”
