Vacation in Cambodia

Right after the semester ended my wife and I took a vacation to Siem Reap, Cambodia to see Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples. We flew Omaha-Chicago-Hong Kong-Singapore-Siem Reap. Yes that is a lot of flying but it was definitely worth it. The temples of the Khmer Empire are amazing - truly one of the worlds great wonders. I highly recommend them. The art is exquisite and the architecture is extraordinary.

On the way back we spent a few nights in Singapore (temples of a different sort) and then flew Singapore-Tokyo-Chicago-Omaha. In Tokyo the plane we were supposed to go out on had just arrived from Chicago and Japanese public health inspectors had found a couple of people on the plane who potentially had H1N1. Luckily United Airlines had another 747 available and we were only delayed three hours.

Back in Lincoln for a week now. The jetlag is gone which is a good thing as the work hasn't seemed to quiet down even with the students, for the most part, gone for summer.

Best wishes for a great summer.
