China

I am in China for two weeks as part of an NSF delegation of twelve science deans. We are visiting to discuss collaborations at all levels from undergrad to faculty with Chinese institutions. Our task is to report to NSF on possible opportunities while also looking for opportunities for our own institutions. We will be touring facilities from undergraduate dormitories to research laboratories and meeting with officials and administrators.

My schedule is:
Beijing 10/20-24: US NSF Beijing Office, Microsoft Asia, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Peking Normal University, Peking University
Nanjing 10/24-27: Nanjing University and Southeastern University
Shanghai 10/27-31: Shanghai Jiaotong University, Chinese Academy of Science Shanghai Branch, Tongji University

I always enjoy traveling to China. The people are wonderful, the food is terrific, and there is so much potential. Check in again for further reports!
