Why I love my job

I need to post more often. I have been traveling. Now with the semester up and running I will be more regular in my posts.

Last week I went to a dinner at the NU foundation for the students who make calls during the phonaton to alumni and other supporters of the university. I had a wonderful time. It reminded me of why I became a professor in the first place - the students. I love to work with students. They have so much energy and enthusiasm.

At the dinner I sat between two majors in Arts and Sciences: one in Geosciences and the other in Psychology. They were totally different in almost every way imaginable but they were both great students who love UNL. My conversations with them about their lives, their ambitions, and their university made my day and made it even easier to come to work the next.
